When is the first event?
The inaugural Gravel North event is planned for mid-September 2027.
Where will the event take place?
In the Scottish Highlands, across a number of private estates and remote gravel routes. All riders have to do is get themselves, their kit and their bikes to Evanton near Inverness (ideally on public transport or even on two wheels!); cars will be left there for the entirety of the event. All other transport and transfers will be provided by the race.
How do I enter?
Entries will open in due course. Register your interest to be the first to hear.
What level of rider is this for?
Gravel North is designed to appeal to all types of rider, from the experienced elite seeking something a bit different and age group level who enjoy the thrill of the challenge, all the way through to enthusiastic amateurs who want to immerse themselves into the landscape.
The route has been carefully designed to work with what the Scottish Highlands has in abundance – wild terrain, punchy climbs as well as long drags; and technical sectors as well as long flowing gravel. Riders will ride across it all, including roads and rivers (they will even have their bike over their shoulder for some short sections!).
What is included?
A fully supported experience including accommodation, food, logistics and on-course support.
How long is the event?
A week long adventure, and around 100 kilometers (4-6 hours of riding) a day.
Are teams allowed?
Teams of riders are welcomed, with clear support areas marked on course.
