Behind Gravel North is a team united by a love of endurance sport, adventure and building exceptional experiences.

Katerina Karamani
Kat – an established Great Britain esports competitor – discovered a passion for riding her gravel bike having competed in the inaugural “Gravel Burn” in South Africa in late 2025 and experienced first-hand the joy of exploration into the wilderness with likeminded people.
Kat is the driving force of Gravel North and is responsible for all operations and logistics.

Jonathan Brownlee
A household name, Olympic and World champion, and also a very experienced elite level gravel racer himself, Jonny has always wanted to showcase the best of the North to a global audience; and gravel riding is the best way to be immersed in such amazing landscapes.

Sophie Wright
Sophie, runner-up in the European Gravel Championships in 2025, is a dedicated gravel specialist.
She brings her extensive knowledge of racing/routes to Gravel North and is excited to be a part of the test event in 2026.

Nina Pearce
Nina is new to gravel but has a passion for the outdoors and sports having grown up in God’s own Country – Yorkshire.
She is chief rider liaison officer and also responsible for the content, writing and what you read about Gravel North.
